Aminister, writer, and popular seminar speaker, Brad is the founder and executive director of Brad Melton Ministries. He began his speaking ministry on a part-time basis in 2002 while serving as a youth and college pastor. A former temple Mormon and missionary to Argentina, Brad was asked by other pastors to lead a workshop explaining the differences between Mormonism and Biblical Christianity at an upcoming Christian high school youth convention. Not long after the convention, Brad received an email from the event coordinator saying, “In reviewing the evaluations it was noted that your workshop was the favorite. It was unanimous from the youth leaders that we offer this workshop again.” This workshop became the foundation for his “Mormonism, Christianity, and Me” seminar, which also seeks to help Christians witness to Mormons.

Even though Brad began his speaking ministry exclusively on the subject of Mormonism, it wasn’t long before he recognized that the growth of Mormonism (and other false worldviews) among Christians was really just the symptom of two more critical challenges facing the Christian Church today—the need for a greater understanding of and belief in Biblical Authority as well as the need for parents to develop an intentional evangelism and disciple-making plan for their families. Therefore, Brad developed two new seminars to address these challenges: “What is the Bible and Why Does it Matter?” and “Home-Grown Disciples.

In addition, Brad believes that Christian apologetics are helpful for not only removing stumbling blocks that keep unbelievers from coming to faith, but also for strengthening the faith of believers. As a Certified Apologetics Instructor candidate with the Southern Baptist Convention, Brad has developed several new apologetics seminars that defend Biblical Christianity from atheism/secular humanism, moral relativism, and religious pluralism.

Brad’s undergraduate training as a journalist and his graduate training as an editor and public historian, complement his capable research skills and passion for taking complicated material and making it engaging and relevant for larger audiences. He also holds a certificate in Christian Apologetics from Biola University and is a student at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.

Before taking a leap of faith into full-time ministry, Brad worked in Arizona’s magazine and book publishing industry for eight years, which included five years in positions of increasing responsibility at Arizona Highways magazine, two years as the editor of Northland Publishing, two years as the editor of Arizona Style magazine, and one year as an associate editor of Documentary Editing. Brad is also the co-editor of and a contributing writer to the Southwest Book Award-winning Arizona Goes to War: The Home Front and the Front Lines During World War II (University of Arizona Press, 2003), which includes a foreword by US Senator John McCain.

Brad and his wife (also a former Mormon) were married in 1996; they are blessed with three children.
